Steve Winegar is an American lawyer with law firm and general counsel experience. He lived and worked nearly two decades in Asia after beginning his career in the U.S. at Shearman & Sterling and Goldman Sachs. While in Asia, he gained broad experience guiding emerging enterprises on their formation and development.  He most recently served as the General Counsel of FWD Group, a pan-Asia life insurance business based in Hong Kong and Singapore with more than 13 million customers across 10 markets. Prior to that, he was the General Counsel for Ping An Group, an insurance-led finance, healthcare and technology conglomerate based in China. Before his general counsel roles, Steve was a partner and office chair in the Hong Kong office of Paul Hastings, a global law firm with a presence in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the U.S.​, where his primary practice areas included capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and regulatory.
